What I Would Have Worn..

The closest I came to having a prom was watching it in movies. We don't do proms where I'm from so I've never had one. I always enjoyed seeing the younger ones dress up for the occasion though (not to make myself sound so old). All the suits and bows and the amazing beautiful dresses.. it definitely sounds like a very fun experience.

We had an end of the year celebration with dance performances, theater and a lot of other very enjoyable activities. I have the most amazing memories from these times with family and friends but the fact that prom is so much more talked about always made me wonder what made it so popular. I don't particularly feel like I really missed out on anything tough.

If I had gone to a prom I would have opted for something a little like this:
A simple but elegant dress. This dress is from Aisle Style. You might have heard about them before, they are an online store with a variety of prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, communion dresses etc.. They also give you the option to have your chosen items tailored to your measurements.
Other dresses from their store I like:
You can click directly on image for the link to the dress.

I seem to be attracted to neutral colors a lot. I mean they are not just classy and timeless but you can never go wrong with them.

Did you have a prom? How was your prom experience like? What type of dress did you go with?
I hope you had a great weekend and I wish you all have a wonderful week ahead.

xo

  9. I did have a prom! But where I come from a prom dress is not a big deal. We just choose something elegant and simple, nothing big, you know. There are girls who wear suits too. I wore a total black outfit with a skirt and a top. Today I would have chosen something different, but simple too.
Great post! I really enjoyed reading it!

  17. I dont think "prom" is anything big or known here in our motherland. But that does not mean we dont have farewells and celebrations that acknowledge where we have been or the next steps in our education journey. I can say much more about our farewells of which meant so much to me then n the memories will forever be with me. I love that 3rd dress it is gorgeous. It is a flattering cut, love love love

  19. Oh wow! Most sponsored posts are always boring and you'd get to know it's one right from the beginning but this was actually a fun read. I was actually thinking about what I'd have worn too or if I'd have gone at all if we do prom here in Nigeria of course. But then some schools are already putting it in their curriculum so it'd probably become common. Lol. I love neutral shades too.

  23. Beautiful prom dresses. My prom was extra fun as I got to spend it with my sister... we danced all night long. If it wasn't for her, I don't think it would have been any good.

  26. Hi Sauniya,
I like your prom dress selection very much! Me too I love neutral colors :-) I think the neutral colors look very chic for elegant events like a prom.
Yes, I had a prom but it wasn't spectacular. I think, the reason is, that proms in the United States are something else than in Germany. In Germany people do not spend a lot of money for prom dresses.
I hope, you had a great weekend my dear friend :-* For tomorrow I wish you a good start into the new week! Take care :-*

  28. Gushing over that first dress choice. We also didn't have a prom but a 'grad' at which we wore a fancy outfit and actually mine, though several years ago, has many similarities to your first pick. Now as a parent I wonder what my daughter will choose to wear. I do rather think in some schools/areas the amount of $ spent for this type of thing has gotten a bit over the top. Just a random thought, but I will probably try to give her the dress of her dreams and fall into the trap as many others do (so not judging anyone).

  29. I love the dresses you chose, they're very beautiful. I had a prom 10 years ago, I wore a violet dress, I love it and still have it although it doesn't fit me anymore hehe.
