A Few Thoughts

It's actually been exactly 6 months today since my first blog post. I can't believe this much time have passed. I barely felt it. Even though I haven't been as consistent as I would have liked with the blog, I've really been enjoying sharing, connecting with you and reading from you both on here and on your blogs. I really wanted take the time to show my appreciation and say thank you to everyone of you.
Ok I don't want to spend too much time rambling about this half year anniversary. I think this holiday season is getting me a bit emotional. Does anyone else feels like this?

Today I want to share with you a few random thoughts that have been on my head. Some food for thoughts, note to self and to you too:

-There is no happy ever after. There is no one point you get to in life or single event that makes the rest of your life effortless and happy. Life would keep throwing challenges at you and you'd have to keep working to make things happen, grow and evolve.

-Don't believe in the misconception that a confident person is perfect. You can be the most confident person and still have flaws or insecurities. Neither flaws nor insecurities make you an insecure person. You can be confident while you're working on improving yourself.

-You can not wish for anything to change but not be willing to make a change in yourself. The whole world around you will not adjust so you can get what you want. Change starts with you.

-It's absolutely ok to have standards higher than what others expect of you. Not everyone would share your passion and vision. Fight for what you believe in.

-You should love yourself exactly as you are right now. Loving and accepting yourself doesn't mean never changing. There is no growth without change. The love you have for yourself is exactly what should push you to want what is best for yourself.

To Do Before The Year Ends

This year has gone by pretty fast for me. It didn't happen quite the way I expected but it was  relatively good overall. There are only 20 days left to the year. That might not sound like a lot but it is still plenty of time to finish the year right.
Here are a few things you should do before the year is over:

• Get a check up
If you haven't already this year, set an appointment with your doctor to get a health check up to make sure everything is good. It's very important to stay on top of you health.

 Re-organize around
You don't want to carry any mess around you into the new year. Tidy up, get your room a make over. A fresh environment always helps to get yourself in a fresh spirit.

 Give back
At the end of the year, there are always a lot of clothing items and other goods accumulated you no longer use and could donate to someone in need. Giving back is a great way to show our gratitude. You can also help by doing some volunteering work.

 Treat yourself
Take some time to enjoy just You. Go on a weekend trip to a part of town you haven't visited yet, treat yourself to a nice spa day, Enjoy a good movie, whatever makes you happy.

 Reflect on the year
Look back and appreciate all the moments of joy, your accomplishments, every lessons you learned, everything you could have improved, even the moments of pain. Taking the time to evalute your year helps you plan the new one better.

Set goals for the upcoming year
What do you want most out of 2017. Whether it's personal growth, career progress, travels, fun.. Start setting your goals now and think of the different ways you could make them happen.

 Celebrate
Regardless of whether this was a good year or not for you. Get together with family and friends and celebrate. Which ever way you want to do it, reminiscing over a nice dinner, telling funny stories, out partying.. just have Fun.

Today

Hello Everyone. I hope you all are well.

I now officially have more drafts than published posts. So much on my head I have been drafting but still haven't been able to make enough time to perfect everything and put it up.
I can believe we are only 3 weeks a few days away from the new year. I'm very excited yo get into the new year but at the same time a little sad to let 2016 go. I get the same feeling this time every year and never really get used to it. I've been focused on making myself ready for the new year. I'm trying to get into 2017 with a good spirit and better habits already. There are few things I want to happen, most of them relating to personal development, but I don't want to wait for the beginning of the year to start working on things. I mean if I can do it now why wait?! Plus I know myself well enough. If I start putting it for tomorrow then tomorrow I'd be in that same state of mind, I'll keep on procrastinating and it will never happen because tomorrow never dies. New year, new beginning, new things usually bring new motivation but why not start now since I already have the motivation, and make it better when the new year comes.
Ok, I ended up writing a lot more than I thought I would. I hope you are making the best of this last month.
Here is a little mid week motivation for you. Start today.
Have a great Wednesday Everyone!

Maxi Dress From Dresslily

Even though I don't consider myself a fashionista, I like to dress well and I enjoy discovering new fashion stores.
I was recently contacted by the people at Dresslily, who let me select some Items from their store to review. If you haven't heard about Dresslily, they are an online fashion store offering trendy clothing, accessories and shoes for both men and women at an affordable price.
Here is my experience with them:

I picked the Spliced Back Plunging V Criss-Cross maxi dress (here) and the Concise PU Leather Color Block Crossbody Bag (here
My sister is modelling the dress for me.

The package took around 21 days to be delivered with standard shipping. The dress arrived slightly wrinkled but nothing an iron couldn't fix. The quality not bad, I'd say it fits the price.
The bag matches the description from the website. It is slightly bigger than I was expected and the quality is quite good. I think I'm going to have  hard time getting it back from my sister. :P

Have a lovely Wednesday Everyone!!

Some Tumblr Likes

Hi Everyone. I hope you had a wonderful week and a warm and lovely Thanksgiving.

Today I'm sharing with you some of my tumblr likes. These are a few thoughts I share, written by others. Some Motivation and Food for Thoughts, but also some Art and Fun.
I've been on Tumblr for almost 6 years now and I still enjoy it as much as when i just started. I reblog a lot of the things I like and I tend to be slightly more vocal on there but overall I try to spread some positivity. You can find my page Here.

Beauty of Diversity. Brazilian photographer captures Lara and Mara, black twins with Albinism and their older sister Sheila.
What  simply love about these pictures is the fact that they broadcast  a diversity that we do not get to see on magazines and televisions everyday. It is showing the beauty of differences, and I think seeing more art work like this, representing more variety, could really help people accept difference as a norm and play a huge part into creating less social complexes.

On You. You have to save yourself.
Same way we can't do it for others, they can not do it for us. It won't be easy, it will take time, you'll get discouraged, you'll even feel alone.. but quitting on yourself is not an option.

Matt McGorry on how he likes his Women. I love the way he puts it!

On Culture. There is not a more developed or less developed Culture. There are different values and different purposes. (from Yawanawa: Strength. A documentary by DJ Alok Petrillo)

On life and goals. Take a break, come bacl at t wth a refreshed mind and be awesome!

On Rights. Human rights are for all Humans.

Art. Just look at the talent.

and this.. Just because I thought this was too funny :P
What are some of your recent likes?  always enjoy reading you so do not hesitate to let me know in the comments section.
Have a great weekend Lovelies!

What To Do When You Don't Know What To Do

We've all had moments when we felt lost, stuck and unsure. I remember being exactly in that state for what felt like the longest time last year and not having a clue what to do or where to start. It's ok to not have it all figured out. Sometimes getting lost help you truly find yourself and what you want.
Today I'm sharing with you some of the tips I used to help me handle those moments.
. Breathe .
Don't panic, don't stress, Take a Deep Breath and Pause for second. If you don't know what to do, don't just rush into anything to feel like you're doing something. Don't make any dramatic decisions. Wait until you've figured what you really want to do, then do that.

. Pray .
Thank God, pray for strength and guidance.. Just talk to God. Let him take over your life and guide your steps. Praying always helps me feel better. Whether I see the light right after a prayer or not, it helps me keep the faith and be at peace.

. Meditate .
Find a nice, quiet and comfortable place and just sit there. Clear you mind and get in touch with yourself. Sometimes we know what we want or what we have to do but we can't clearly hear our thoughts because there are too many distractions around.

. Be Active .
You're more likely to find inspiration while being active. Get out there and expose yourself to as many things as possible. Read, write, interact with others, keep your mind stimulated.
"Inspiration exists, but it had to find you working" - Pablo Picasso

. Be Present .
Be in the now. Don't be so focus on figuring the next step of your life that you fail to enjoy the present moment. Accept things as they are. I'm not saying settle, but let go of what you thought this moment was suppose to be and Be Happy right now.

Remember everything is temporary and you can only grow from here.
I hope this helps.

Happy Wednesday! :)

5 Things I Want To Learn

I like learning new things. From useful to fun or random.. it's always a good idea to stimulate and expand your mind. Learning a new skill gives me a sense of accomplishment and pride. Plus you never know when you might need that knowledge.

Here are 5 of the things I want to learn:

A new language
I speak French and English fluently and I really want to learn a third language. I've started following small Spanish classes on YouTube. I don't have anybody to practice with but I enjoy it still.

The piano
The piano is my favourite instrument. I always wanted to learn how to play. I tried teaching myself with a small keyboard when I was younger but then it broke. I should get myself an actual piano and make it happen.

Cycle
I never had a bike or learned to ride one. I think bicycling around should be a very fun activity. Although I'd probably fall a few times and embarrass myself a lot learning, I really want to know how to cycle.

Self defence
I think everybody should learn self defence and be able to protect themselves. Having this skill would also boost your confidence and make you feel like a ninja.

Knit and Sew
It would be fun to be able knit myself a nice scarf, add my own little touches to my clothes and make them unique or knit a love one something special.

What do you have on your list of things to learn?

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :)

Positive Affirmation

Decide that your day is going to be good and that you are going to do good. Believe that and act with that belief.

Your thoughts create your reality. When you have negative thoughts, you subconsciously do things that lead you in the direction of failure. You fail to truly invest yourself or do your best because you anticipate negative results. But this exact behaviour is what creates the negative outcome, and negative results validate the negative thoughts which create a negative life. Cycle.
When you have positive thoughts, you're more likely to do things that go in the direction of your goals. When you face challenges, you do not approache them wth a defeated mind but instead yo see them as a way to surpass yourself. You adjust you plan and stay focus on creating solutions. You find alternatives and stay happy.

Knowing this doesn't automatically make the negative thoughts go away. I too still have moments when I have to fight with my thoughts. The fears, the self doubt... but I know the key is to practice positive affirmation. We are not prisoners of our thoughts. We control them, not the other way around.

Affirmation of the day:
I am Strong, I am Confident, I am Able, I am Brave, I Believe in me.

I declare:
The last two months of this year are going to be great. I won't worry about what I don't have control over. I will make the best of whatever comes my way. I will be more productive, Love more, Help more, be more Grateful.
I'm putting it out there.

Thank you for reading. Do not forget to leave a comment,  l would love to read your thoughts, suggestions, experiences or anything you want to share.

Introvert Problems

I do consider myself to be an introvert.
It is a bittersweet label, not only because we all seem to have different understanding when it comes to the actual meaning of the word, but also because of all the misconceptions associated with it.
When I say I'm an introvert people can assume anything from the word, boring, shy, non-sociable, hung up... what not. I simply enjoy my own space a lot. Contrary to popular belief, I actually really like people and spending quality time with them, but after a while I just really need to be by myself and recharge. I prefer deep conversations, I never know what to say during small talks as  don't want to say anything that's already obvious or be redundant.
These are some of the characteristics that are true to me.. I do not represent all introverts out there.
Sarah Andersen representing me so well lol

Getting judged as an introvert is pretty much inevitable. You get told you don't know how to enjoy my life etc.. but whatever, I'm happy being me so I don't really care.

I found this chart on Tumblr. I thought it was a funny but yet quite accurate. I can totally relate. Well, except for the speak slowly part. This is by no means meant to stereotype all introverts out there. We are similar in a few ways but all very different and unique individuals. Every introvert has their own personality.
Here are 10 problems I'm sure all introverts know very well.

What are your thoughts? Are you more of an Introvert, Extrovert or Ambivert (in between the two)?
I hope you're all having a Lovely Weekend :)

Current Fitness Loves

I love working out. There is never a workout I feel bad about, unless I know I didn't push as hard as I could have. ..but even with all that love, there are still days when I don't feel like working at all and really need that extra push.
Building a good discipline and routine is very important. You get yourself to do what you need to do regardless of your emotion in that moment.

One other thing I found that definitely helps is constantly mixing it up. Trying different routines from various sources. It makes it a lot more fun and really helps you get excited about your workout. It's easy to get bored doing the same things over and over, so I'm constantly looking for something new.

Here are some of the tools I've been enjoying a lot for my workouts recently.

Danielle Peazer Dance Workouts on Youtube
If you don't like working out, I hope you at least like to dance. That way you can easily use that love to get a little sweat out.
What I love the most about Danielle's workouts is that they require no equipment, you can easily squeeze them into your day, they are fun, easy to follow by yourself or with a buddy.
It's light enough for beginners and you can combined with other videos if you're looking for something more advanced.
Here is a routine I've been enjoying.
You can find more Danielle's workouts linked -> Here

Carmen Morgan Workouts on Instagram
I am on Instagram a lot, so I figured 'why not use it for something more useful?!' I recently discovered Carmen's page.  She has a lot a cool exercises you can do at home, outside, at the gym, with and without equipment. You'd also get some moblity flow.
You can find Carmen's Instagram Here
Here is one of her workouts I did last Thursday

The Nike Training Club (NTC) app
This one I've been using off and on for about 5 years now. The app is basically your personal trainer. It offers you a large variety of workouts to choose from, and for all levels. You can even create a program to reach your goal, whether it is to slim down, get definition or get strong.
You can download the app for free both on iPhone and Android.

If you have any fitness love or know some cool workout tools please share them.
None of this is sponsored. Just sharing with you what has been working for me. Hopefully you'll find something here that's helps your motivation.

I like a little challenge. If you don't like working out, please share why with me and I'll try to find specific way to motivate you :)
Have a lovely weekend!

Midweek Motivation

Hey Everyone, I hope you all had a great start of the week. My week had been good so far. Could be a little more productive, but still good. Today I'm sharing some mid week motivation with you.

Star each day with a grateful heart. Be thankful for a new day and new opportunities. Decide that today is going to be great. Adopt a positive attitude, be happy and share your positive energy with those around you.

Believe in yourself and what you are capable of. When you believe in something you consciously and subconsciously take actions that go in the direction of making those things happen. When you don't have faith, you don't give it your all in anticipation for a failure, and this exact behavior creates the failure.

Don't just be active, be Productive. Do something today that gets you a step closer to your goals. Write down a list of everything you want to accomplish for the day, work hard and make it happen.
Be your own competition today. Do not compare your progress to that of anyone else. Focus on being better today than you were yesterday.

I hope you all have a much productive and happy rest of the week!

Thought Provoking Questions | #2

Here are some more Thought Provoking Questions for you. You do not have to answer them, they are mainly intended to make you think.
You can find the previous Thoughtful Questions I posted Here.

2. How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?

3. What qualities make you beautiful?

4. When did you last get out of your comfort zone?

5. How often do you renew your mind?

6. What activity makes you lose track of time?

7. Are you fighting for what you believe in?

8. What occupies your mind the most and how does it affect your life?

9. Where would you be in 10 years if you keep heading the direction you're in?

10. What are 3 things you are grateful for right now?

My Fitness Wishlist

I spent a good amount of time this morning rearranging my workout plan. There is always someone or something interfering and this time I tried to plan alternatives. If the 6.00 am workout doesn't happen, I left a lil spot at 8.00 am or 5.00 pm when it was possible to make up for the missed session. I found some new workouts to mix up my routine that got me excited.

I haven't shopped for workout gear in a while, so I also spent quite some time online window shopping. I could use some new leggings and sport bras.

Sports Bra

Adidas logo sportswear, $43 / Topshop pink sports bra, $27 / Puma yoga sports bra / Adidas sportswear / Mara Hoffman white sports bra / Lorna Jane sports bra, $56

I usually go for black or grey leggings, simple and comfortable. Colors can make it so much more fun. I really like these pieces.
Sport Leggings

Workout Leggings

I like home workouts but I miss the gym sometimes. I wouldn't mind some extra tools.
I have two tiny dumbbells but they don't do much and I really want heavier ones.
Same for the jump rope. The one I have is so crappy I barely use it.
Stability ball.. I just think about the so many things I could use it for.
Do you have a fitness wishlist? If so, what do you have on it?

To My Younger Self

Looking back at my younger years, there are a lot of things I see and understand completely differently than I did at the time. There is nothing I would change though. Everything I am today is because of all my experiences from the past, good and bad.
There are still a few things that I would tell my younger self.
I saw a few bloggers had a similar post and it motivated me to do one :)

Personal
Fight for what you want, don't be so quick to compromise.
There is no limit to what you can do. Do not ever listen to anyone telling you otherwise.
Be more confident, Believe in yourself.

Relationships
Not everybody is meant for you, you're not meant for everybody and that's OK.
Keep in better touch with the ones you care about.
Time heals a lot. It might not feel like it but there will be other boys.

Life
Don't worry, it gets better.
Appreciate and be more Grateful for what you have.
Life is happening the way it is suppose to, be in the Now.

Goals
Write your goals down, Visualize clearly, Plan, Act.
Just start something, practice makes it better.
You'd never be completely ready, sometimes you have trow yourself out there and see.

More than Anything
I am proud of the value you holding, even so young.
Proud of how creative and ambitious you are.
Proud of everything you've accomplished.

I wonder what this would all sound like to me 10 years from now. I wonder what my future self would think about current self.. but before I get there I'm going to try and live the best life I can, enjoy and learn as much as possible.

What would you tell your younger self?

Few Hacks You Should Try

I think it's always good to know one or two good hacks. I have a few that I really like I want to share with you today.

• Placing your phone/alarm as far away from your bed. I'm a snoozer lol (if that's even a word), so this is very practical one for me some mornings. With my phone on the other side of the room I have tot get out of bed to stop the alarm and once I'm up, I might as well start my day instead of snoozing and going back to sleep.

• Using hair conditioner as shaving cream. I don't even remember how I discovered this hack but I love it so much. Conditioner get you a good close shave and leaves your skin feeling super smooth after shave.

• Drinking a small glass of water before a meal.  I love food and I tend to eat a lot, especially when it taste good. I take a small glass of water just a few mins before my meal and this helps me to avoid overeating.

• Exercising before/during that time of the month. This helps prevent period cramps. I try to workout regularly and for the times I haven't been the most active I try to do a 20 - 30 min routine 3 to 4 times the week of my period and this really saves me.

• Using toothpaste to dry pimples. I put a tiny amount where the spot is, leave it for 1 min, then rinse.  Toothpaste can be a bit drying for the skin so make sure you always moisturize after.

Do you know any good hacks? If yes, please share in the comment section. It;s always good to learn new ones.

What NOT to Learn from Others

Having negativity around you can be a bit though and draining. Especially if you don't have a way to escape it. They say the people you spend the most time around affect who you are, so I thought instead of becoming a whiner and complaining about negative people I'd try and turn this into something positive.
I know the tittle is a little confusing but this post a really about what I've learned from others' mistakes.

Constant Complaints
It doesn't help. If anything, it will drain you and the people around you. If you don't like something change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.

Blaming Others
If you never take responsibility for the part you play in something happening, you never acknowledge your mistakes. You can never learn from them, you can never change them. You'll go on doing the same things, getting the same results, finding new people to blame and never evolving.

Making Excuses
There could be hundred reasons why you don't want to do it now, but there are even more reasons why you should. Do not choose what's convenient for the moment but what's efficient. It's not about what you want now but what you are getting in the long term.

No Self Change
If you want something to change, you have to be willing to change yourself. Don't just wish for it and wait. The whole world is not going to adjust so you can get what you want.

Negative Attitude
Some people see the glass as half full, some as half empty and others are just happy to have a glass and something to drink. Your perspective affect the way you feel [Rach from R D's obsessions recently reminded me of this]. There is a good side to every situation, an opportunity with every challenge. It's up to you to find them.

What have you learned from others recently?
