What NOT to Learn from Others

Having negativity around you can be a bit though and draining. Especially if you don't have a way to escape it. They say the people you spend the most time around affect who you are, so I thought instead of becoming a whiner and complaining about negative people I'd try and turn this into something positive.
I know the tittle is a little confusing but this post a really about what I've learned from others' mistakes.

Constant Complaints
It doesn't help. If anything, it will drain you and the people around you. If you don't like something change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.

Blaming Others
If you never take responsibility for the part you play in something happening, you never acknowledge your mistakes. You can never learn from them, you can never change them. You'll go on doing the same things, getting the same results, finding new people to blame and never evolving.

Making Excuses
There could be hundred reasons why you don't want to do it now, but there are even more reasons why you should. Do not choose what's convenient for the moment but what's efficient. It's not about what you want now but what you are getting in the long term.

No Self Change
If you want something to change, you have to be willing to change yourself. Don't just wish for it and wait. The whole world is not going to adjust so you can get what you want.

Negative Attitude
Some people see the glass as half full, some as half empty and others are just happy to have a glass and something to drink. Your perspective affect the way you feel [Rach from R D's obsessions recently reminded me of this]. There is a good side to every situation, an opportunity with every challenge. It's up to you to find them.

What have you learned from others recently?

Fighting Thoughts..

It's only Wednesday but this week has been quite challenging for me so far. I had to battle with my own thoughts a lot. The fight between the person I used to be and the person I'm trying to become.
Change is hard. I'm still a work in progress. Right now I need to take my own advice and remind myself to enjoy the process, to love this stage I am currently in. This doesn't mean getting comfortable and not working towards my goals or for anything better.. but this means not waiting for something specific to happen before I can be happy.

When I'm having a hard time, I try to find some quotes or anything inspiring to help go pass it. This is my midweek Motivation/Inspiration.. maybe this could help someone out there.

"Accept - then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it.. This would miraculously transform your whole life." - Eckhart Tolle
"In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." - Albert Einstein
"If opportunities doesn't knock, build a door." - Milton Berle
"A river cuts through rock, no because of its power be because of its persistence." - Jim Watkins
"He who is not everyday conquering some fear has not learned the secret of life." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
"You can suffer the pain of change or suffer remaining the way you are" - Joyce Meyer
"The trick is to enjoy life. Don't wish away your days, waiting for better ones ahead." - Marjorie Pay Hinckley
"Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out." - John Wooden

Fitness Motivation for Beginners

Congratulations on making the decision to get your fitness on, you've completed the first step of you journey to a healthier and happier you. Whether you do it to fit in your bathing suit in time for summer, to improve you self esteem or other.. I encourage you in this new journey.

A lil bit of fitness motivation tips for anyone trying to get in better shape

Set a Goal.
Write it down, break it into small goals and plan. Start small and slowly go up. You can start with 3 workouts a week then go up to 5 after the first 4 weeks etc..

Experiment.
Try different things and figure what works best for you. Jogging, Swimming, Dancing.. whatever you're most comfortable doing, just as long as you keep active and stay consistent.

Be patient.
It won't all happen overnight. Stay consistent with your workouts even if you do not see the result right away. Remember It took a moment to put on the weight and it will take you a minute to get it off.

Be your own competition.
Focus everyday on being better than the day before. We do not all have the same journey. Do not compare your progress or your body with that of someone else.

Mix it up.
If you're into dance, try new routines regularly. If you like to run, try interval training today, running up a hill tomorrow, still cardio the next day. Challenge yourself. Keep it fun, renew your playlist frequently.

Eat clean.
Do not ruin your workouts by stuffing yourself with junk. Do not starve yourself either.  Slowly introduce healthier meals and eliminate junk. Control your portions, snack on fruits and have one of two cheat meals a week as a treat.

Love the Body you're in
..because when you love yourself you want what's best for you and you're more likely to do good.. eat clean, workout regularly, speak positively to yourself, and just anything that would lead to positive results.

Sunday Reflections..

Few things I've Learned...
You can't change people.
If does not matter how much you care about them or how much you want them to be better.
Trying to change some's behavior is like trying to workout so they can lose the weight.. It will never happen unless they actually want to change and are willing to make some effort for it. You can guide them, support them, be there for them, but you can not do the work for them.
The best thing you can do is give them some space and be there for them when they need you.

You have to let go to be free.
People will hurt you.. some even consciously. You'll be the best person you can and life will still be unfair at times. The best thing you can do for yourself in these times is let go. because holding on and spending endless time reminiscing and trying to understand would only feed the pain. The more you think about something, the bigger it becomes and the more it affects your life.

Nothing quite happens the way we plan.
They say sometimes you have to fall before you can fly. Those moments will challenge your strength and sometimes maybe even make you doubt yourself, but when you feel like giving up remember why you started. Don' think about how hard the moment is, but focus on the lessons you can get.

You're doing much better than you think.
Take a moment to appreciate everything that you have and  all that you are. Be proud of how far you've come and everything you have accomplished. Always be Grateful.
